About Super Bread

Super Bread distribution and Super Cakes Bakery are owned by Armenio Martins and his family.
The distribution is currently located in Kenilworth NJ and the bakery plant is located in South Plainfield NJ.

Armenio established his business in 1995 with one route that he owned and operated in central Connecticut. In 1997, Armenio decided to establish new routes in New Jersey and at the end of that year he had grown the business to five routes. By 2005, Super Bread expanded to twenty routes, now servicing northern NJ and Metro NY. As opportunities arose, Super Bread continued to grow and in 2011 had ninety routes, servicing the five New York Boroughs (Staten Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx and Queens), Long Island(NY), New Jersey State, South Eastern Pennsylvania including Philadelphia and Central and Southern Connecticut. Super Bread is in the process of looking for an additional branch in the NY Metro Area.

Super Bread is the main supplier for Food Bazaar (Bogopa), Fine Fair Supermarket, Cherry Valley, Associated Supermarket, Compare Supermarket, Met Foods Supermarket and Pioneer Supermarket. Super Bread also serves supermarkets such as Shop Rite, Western Beef, National Wholesale Liquidators, Fairway Market, K Mart and as members of NSA (National Supermarkets Association) to small stores (bodegas) throughout their service area. Super Bread also distributes bread under the Schimdt brand, as well as Hauswald. Aside from these private labels, Super Bread distridutes its own fast growing brand, Super Bread, in all the stores.

Super Bread currently has over 100 trucks (200 routes). All routes are company owned and operated by Super Bread employes. Super Bread continues to expand by adding more routes.

Armenio saw opportunities in the cake category and decided to open a cake plant (Super Cakes) in Elizabeth NJ in 2008. This plant produced a variety of cakes. Super cakes quickly outgrew its space in Elizabeth, NJ and moved its operations to a larger facility in South Plainfield NJ in early 2013. The bakery has a fully automated mini croissant production line as well as a line for pastry production.
